Madrid: Spain's Unique and Sunny Capital
My Experience in Madrid
It’s hard to have a bad time in this vibrant city! I came here without any preplanned tours (partner in crime supposed to meet me fell through) but was still able to fill my days with the amazing beauty and culture it had to offer! Between the old area and the new area, the liveliness truly never stops. I also very much enjoyed the sheer amount of gorgeous views at every cliff side throughout the landscape.
I stayed in an airbnb but was able to find tours and tickets to events (like a flamenco show) on my favorite tour apps. I was also extremely lucky to run into an AMAZING group of ladies that I explored with as well.
Must-try Foods
Cafe Bombon- Espresso with sweetened condensed/evaporated milk
Sangria/Tinto de Verano- Fruit wine/Sangria with sprite
Paella- Traditional rice dish

My Final Thoughts
Madrid is a must see in Spain! There is so much to discover between the historical old area, the modern new area, and everywhere in between. Besides the sites, the food is amazing. It’s also a highly walkable city which is my personal favorite way to get around. I highly recommend Madrid to anyone thinking about traveling to this beautiful city!
